These 3 siblings choose to stay and die with their elderly parents in the Grenfell Tower blaze

Kamru Miah, 82, his wife, Rabeya Begum, and their son Hamid, 29
Three young siblings chose to stay and die with their parents in the Grenfell Tower fire - rather than leave them to die alone on the 17th floor, it's emerged.

As smoke and flames engulfed the building, bride-to-be Husna Begum, 22, and her brothers, Hanif, 26, and Hamid, 29, spoke to relatives on the phone and explained their decision to stay.

In an emotional conversation more than two hours after the blaze began, the children told them that there was no way they could leave their mother, Rabeya, who was in her 60s, and 82-year-old father, Kamru Miah.

The British-Bangladeshis also told their relatives not to grieve for them as they were 'going to a better place'.

It's been claimed they had an 'opportunity' of almost an hour after the fire began at around 12.50am to make their way to safety - until about 1.45am - and were last heard of on the phone at 3.10am
Their cousin, Samir Ahmad, 18, told The Times :
"Their dad could barely walk anyway."What were they going to do? Abandon him?"

Mr Ahmad said he believed "until around 1.45am they could have left their parents, but they didn't."

Of their final conversation, he said: "My auntie spoke to Hanif. He was very calm.
Husna Begum, 22, and brother Hanif, 26
"He said his time had come, and not to mourn for them, but be happy for them because they would be in a better place.
Hats off to them. They didn't show cowardice. They stayed with their mum and dad.
"Family was so important to them. They lived together and they died together.".
Mr Ahmad said he believed the children would have been haunted for the rest of their lives.

Ms Begum was due to get married in Leicester next month - and her distraught fiancé and extended family are expected to remember them in a public prayer ceremony at 6pm today.

One brother Mohammed Hakim, who had been at the home earlier in the evening but left before the blaze, is known to have survived.

Married teacher banned from classrooms for life over her affair with 18-year-old student

A married teacher has been banned from the classroom for life for having a nine-month affair with an 18-year-old student, whom she nicknamed 'The A Team'.

Amena Nazam-Khan, 36, who taught at Tong High School in Bradford, used Facebook and a mobile phone app to sext the schoolboy and send naked pictures of herself.

Calling herself 'Baby', she invited him to her home where they had sex, a misconduct panel said.
The hearing was told the boy, who turned 18 in the spring of 2015 was being directly taught by Mrs Nazam-Khan  when the affair began in January that year.
The panel said Mrs Khan, who had been employed at the school since 2009, also took the boy to hotel rooms.
There were references in the messages to Mrs Nazam-Khan and Pupil A eating out together in restaurants although it was not clear who was paying.

Pupil A told the school investigators: 'We went out to eat. She would never let me pay for anything'.

After being told she was suspended, she dumped her lover and messaged him:
'From now you will never discuss our relationship with anyone. Can I also finally request, that all my photos are deleted. All my messages are too. Because I don't want any other disgrace by school finding them.'

The teenager also claimed that Mrs Nazam-Khan showered him with gifts, including a Hugo Boss watch and concert tickets.
But the tribunal dismissed these claims, and the claim Mrs Khan had paid for the meals, because they were made shortly after she had ended the relationship.
The panel said there was clear evidence that around this time Pupil A was 'feeling aggrieved and seeking vengeance'.
But the panel also noted that following the affair his performance at school deteriorated as he experienced 'emotional distress'.

Nigeria to become world’s 3rd most populous country in 2050

Nigeria has been projected to be the world’s third most populous country by the year 2050, UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs reports.

The report, titled ‘World Population Prospects: The 2017 Revision’, said with such development, Nigeria would overtake the United States in terms of population just as world population would reach 9.8 billion people.

The report said
“by 2050, the third most populous country will be Nigeria, which currently ranks seventh, and which is poised to replace the United States.
“Among the 10 largest countries of the world, one is in Africa (Nigeria).
“Amongst these, Nigeria’s population, currently the seventh largest in the world, is growing the most rapidly.
“Consequently, the population of Nigeria is projected to surpass that of the United States shortly before 2050, at which point it would become the third largest country in the world.
“In 2050, the populations in six of the 10 largest countries are expected to exceed 300 million: China, India, Indonesia, Nigeria, Pakistan, and United States of America (in alphabetical order).
“Africa, which has the youngest age distribution of any region, is projected to experience a rapid ageing of its population, the report noted.
“Although the African population will remain relatively young for several more decades, the percentage of its population aged 60 or over is expected to rise from five per cent in 2017 to around nine per cent in 2050, and then to nearly 20 per cent by the end of the century.”

In addition, the birth rates in African countries are likely to “at least double” by 2050, according to the report.
